I study spirituality really broadly to look for the through-lines. My roots are in conservative Christianity, but I left the church in 2001; and over the past decade have focused my pursuit of understanding outside of that sphere of influence.

What I found is that other traditions recognize the same God that I do, and there are ways that they have explored our connection to the spiritual realm that modern Christianity doesn’t lean toward nearly enough.

While I focus a lot on bringing that understanding into language lanes that Christians can hear, I love to dance with those who no longer associate with the church; and a lot of new folks are coming into that dance! So I create conversations for all levels of seeking that recognize the spirit that runs through us, that it is wildly amazing, and infinitely FOR us!!

When we get together in these groups, it’s actually much the same conversation that I have with those who are following Jesus’ teachings; however the guardrails come off with the language, and that opens up a lot of ways to share about the experiences of our individual spiritual journeys. Conversations of each genre - Christian-oriented or not - are just that … meant as a space where people of similar experience can learn from one another. The gatherings aren’t about me, personally, or what I have to teach… that just gets sprinkled into the mix, while I also serve as a simplistic mediator and facilitator.
