Some of the most important places of growth that I’ve experienced in my life include:

  • helping - not fixing,

  • learning from the individual themselves - not from people like me who say they know,

  • attempting to UNDERSTAND - not to be understood,

  • deciding to stop judging people on things that don’t actually matter,

  • remembering that people are what matter - not achievements, power, or money,

  • realizing that fear almost always stands in the way of great things.

While I will never be perfect at any of them - especially in times like these where I am struggling with my weaknesses more than ever - all of those elements have honestly changed my life & set me free in so many ways, because I see humanity & the power of community now. It put empathy within reach. From that place we have so much more power to create wonderful change. If you’re wishing you had more of the answers right now, I encourage you to examine some of these things in your life & put them to practice as you go about your everyday life. You might just find that love is the answer afterall.
